Dressing for a Horserace

Going to racecourses and enjoying a nice day watching horse races and placing bets while having fun with relatives and close friends can be the best way to spend your weekend. To be as comfortable as possible at the course, you need to know what to wear. Dressing for a horserace gets even more important if you are attending a full-day race, since your level of comfort determine just how much you can enjoy the race and focus on betting.

If you will be attending the race at the club house, it would be best to go with formal attires. Jackets and ties are required for men, while ladies should go with a semi-formal to formal dresses. Make sure you are wearing a comfortable pair of shoes, since you will be standing most of the time and wearing uncomfortable high heels can be quite painful after a while.

When you are sitting on the Grandstand, you can simply go for more casual attires. You still need to wear shirt and trousers or skirts, but some racetracks allow you to wear jeans and trainers as well. Make sure you bring a jacket with you just in case you are attending a race in a rather cold weather.

When you are at the Silver Ring, you can dress casually all the way. Jeans and t-shirts are acceptable. Most of the time you can even bring a rug with you and have a nice picnic while enjoying the race. All in all, make sure you are comfortable with what you are wearing.
